In (D.C)Chapter 1 of David Copperfield, the protagonist is born in Blunderstone after his father"s death. A mysterious woman named Miss Betty Trotwood appears before his birth and becomes a friend to his mother. However, when the baby turns out to be a boy instead of a girl as predicted by Miss Betty Trotwood, she becomes angry and disappears from their lives.
