In Chapter 17 of (D.C), sad happenings occur at Yarmouth involving Buckeys and Mr. Pagoti. Emily"s strange behavior raises questions about who will take her home. Buckeys" death brings sorrow to Pagoti and prompts him to ask Mr. David for help with the funeral arrangements and the will. After the funeral, Mr. Pagoti waits for Emily to return from work as a dressmaker at the board house.
